Taking A Much Needed Break: Queenstown Trip

After months of really hard work, we finally took a week-long break and went on a trip. It’s just really refreshing to just not open my laptop and not read work emails for 7 days. We booked a flight to Queenstown and rented an Airbnb just outside the town center. It’s funny that even if we’ve been living in New Zealand for more than 2 years, it’s our first time to visit the South Island.

Goodness, it was beautiful! Everywhere you look, there are majestic mountains and lakes. Our trip was a nice mix of taking scenic photographs, walking trails/hiking, “kinda” adrenalin pumping (not the bungee jumping / skydiving kind, but you should totally do that if you’re in Queenstown), and pampering.

There are a couple of stops that we backed out of. One is Tekapo, which we thought we could do in a day. But nope, apparently it would be too tiring. So we thought it’d be better to just go back and have another trip, and stay overnight over there instead.

I am just so grateful that we were able to take this break. Those 7 days off were just what I needed to get back to work refreshed and recharged 💜
