New Zealand was effectively put on lockdown since Thursday, and it might be in place for at least 4 weeks. But the Mister and I have been staying home since last weekend, ever since the numbers of confirmed cases started going up. We’re one of the lucky ones who get to continue our work at home, so we don’t have to go out (kudos to frontliners who stay out for us) and we still have a schedule to stick to. It takes a lot of adjustment (in terms of Ways of Working), but we’re getting by.
I’m trying my best to keep to my regular routine, although admittedly, I wake up a bit later since the weather is also getting colder. On normal days, I wake the Mister up since he drops me off at the office. This week, I just let him get up when he wants to, and I spend some quiet time in the morning having breakfast and journaling. I still get “kinda dressed” (change out of my jammies and into some comfy clothes, minus the makeup) for the day.
As much as this year has been a struggle (and we’re just on the first quarter!), I try to see this lockdown as a time to:
- Do stuff that we’ve been procrastinating on
- Declutter and organise our home
- Try making things (the Mister made some fresh pasta the other day)
- Read a book or take an online course/class
- Journal and reflect
- Rest

How are you guys doing? Be kind and stay safe! 💜
Here in the Eastern part of the U.S. in our county we went on full lockdown last night for the next few weeks. I got no choice but to go to work cause I work as nurse. But the days that I am off I still stay at home. I did my entire spring cleaning and decluttering. Now I have set away some quarantine time to finish some education and the rest of the time I journal , bake bread and enjoy my time out on our patio.

Take care & thank you for your work! Enjoy your off days and keep safe ☺️ So much we can do at home, if we just take a good look around.
